ICT Programme
Technology and technological advancements have given rise to profound changes in society, transforming how we access and process information, how we communicate with others and how we work and solve problems. Here at West Spring, we leverage on the affordances of ICT (Information & Communication Technology) and focus on building our students’ experience by integrating technology in our lessons. At lower secondary, students gain exposure to coding and video production skills.
We constantly raise students’ awareness of their responsibilities when they are online through our Cyber Wellness Program. We believe that our ICT program, combined with our Cyber Wellness Program, will provide the means and the context to help our students become skilful problem solvers who can appreciate the significance of technology in everyday life and society, develop respect for others’ viewpoints and appreciate alternative solutions to problems and respond critically and resourcefully to real‑life challenges.

Sec 2 Creator Programme (T1W9 & T3W1)
Sec 2 CREATOR PROGRAM Venue: Sec 2 Form Classrooms Note: Sec 2s to bring a fully charged PLD to the session.
Objective: Provide an understanding of key concepts and applications in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
The course discusses Neural Networks, a cornerstone of modern AI, enabling learners to comprehend their architecture. It also explores Generative AI, the “creative” side of AI, capable of producing text, images, audio and videos based on text-based inputs from users.
At the same time, there have been concerns that the field of AI has been growing too fast, without concerns about how it might impact society. More extreme views feel that humanity itself is threatened by AI. Learners will explore growing pains and ethical issues surrounding the development of AI.
Sec 2 Hands-on Sessions
- Understanding the Machine Learning training workflow via Google Teachable Machine.
- Coding AI applications on RAISE Playground; a block-based programming platform that lets anyone use machine learning models, robotics, and AI engines to make projects.
- Simple microcontroller programming with the micro:bit.
- Using the EF Smart AI Lens together with the micro:bit to build physical AI applications
