Dear parents, students and partners of West Spring Secondary,
This morning, on the first day of school, the whole school community warmly welcomed our Secondary 1 students as they entered the hall. To help them adjust to the new school environment, our Student Leaders and Form Teachers will be organising a variety of orientation activities over two afternoons.
You may be pleased to know that the school continues to be well sought-after by parents and students as there is an increase in the PSLE cut-off points of students who qualify for a place in West Spring Secondary.
The school will enhance its focus to nurture our students to be confident, resilient and well-equipped with the values and life skills to be successful in an increasingly uncertain world. Students will need to embrace an attitude of learning for understanding. To achieve these, there will be greater emphasis on students’ ownership of their learning through self-directed approaches such as project work and flipped-classroom approaches. Our Applied Learning Programme of Media Literacy will enable our West Spring Students to navigate the cyber world and communicate effectively.
To encourage our students to be more resilient, daring and innovative, the school will strengthen our programmes to equip our charges with leadership competencies, skills and attitudes. Through our Learning for Life Programme, STAR (Sportsmanship, Teamwork and Resilience), our students will be encouraged to build their resilience through challenging activities such as during camps, CCAs and OBS.
Let us work in partnership to nurture our students into “Ladies and Gentlemen of Character and Learning”.
